The Audit and Compliance Committee will consist of members from the PPS, one of whom will be the Compliance Officer designated by BHNNY PPS to oversee all audit and compliance functions of the BHNNY PPS. The committee members shall have expertise in management, finance, corporate compliance, compliance risks relevant to the operation of the PPS and privacy of protected health information. The Audit and Compliance Committee is responsible for the development and implementation of the BHNNY PPS Compliance Plan. The BHNNY PPS Compliance Plan will encompass all applicable State and Federal regulations, including HIPAA, NYS Social Services Compliance Law, and relevant Office of the Medicaid Inspector General regulations. The Audit and Compliance Committee will adopt policies and procedures that will require all BHNNY PPS organizations and individual providers to adhere to the requirements of the BHNNY PPS Compliance Plan. The Committees auditing responsibilities will include the development and implementation of auditing protocols related to the financial funds distribution throughout the PPS along with the development of a Code of Conduct protocol for the BHNNY PPS. The Audit and Compliance Committee will develop compliance plan training materials for dissemination throughout the BHNNY PPS. The Committee will provide regularly scheduled audit and compliance reports to the PAC and the BHNNY Board of Directors.
